Ever get tired of buying condensed milk at the store? Do you ever find yourself saying, “oh, I just don’t want to go the grocery store right now!”. Don’t you wish that there was some way you could just whip some up at home, instead of driving all the way to the grocery store for it? Well, actually, you can whip some up at home, so long as you have the ingredients you need!
You are going to need 1 cup of boiling water, ¼ of a cup of margarine, 2 cups of white sugar, and 4 cups of nonfat dry milk powder. If you have these and a blender, than I think you have the fight about ¾ of the way won already, and you are ready to begin!
First, pour the water into a blender. Then, you will add the stick of margarine. After this, you will go ahead and add the 2 cups of sugar. Now, turn the blender on and combine all of these ingredients. Once you have these blended, keep the blender going and add one cup of dry milk powder. Once this cup is fully blended in, you will add another, and so on. Remember to keep the blender going until all is finished and mixed together! When you are done, store the milk in an airtight container, and keep it in the refrigerator.
This recipe will create you 1 1/3 cups of condensed milk, which is very similar to what you would get in a 14 oz. can. You can use this exactly the way you can use any store bought condensed milk. The only difference was that you didn’t have to drive half an hour to get this milk! So, enjoy, and if you need more, just make another batch!
