Most of you have already read about 29 year old journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi, who became famous by throwing his shoes at the president of USA, George W Bush, during a news conference in Iraq.
While this incident was probably not so funny for the president it was very lucrative for Ramazan Baydan, owner of the shoe factory that makes the shoe thrown at George Bush.
Mr. Bayden has recruited an extra 100 staff to be able to cope with the huge demand for the notorious pair of shoes called Model 271 (better known as Bush Shoes). 370 000 pair of shoes has been ordered from the date of the incident, which is more than four times the shoe’s normal annual sale. A sharp rise in orders has been recorded from neighbouring Muslim countries and from the US and Britain.
