7 of the World's Most Expensive Houses

Money might not be everything, but you have to admit that the idea of a luxury mansion is definitely appealing! There are a lot of people that wish that they could have a really nice house, but they just don’t have that type of money. Instead of being green with envy, you might use lists like these as a source of inspiration. What pushes you forward? Well, we like to get inspiration from some of the world’s most expensive houses. We picked 7 houses that really caught our attention — is your favorite on this list?
1. Antilla

Have you ever lived in a house with 27 floors? There’s one in India. It’s owned by Mukesh Ambani, and it’s 570 feet tall. It’s worth a billion dollars, which is definitely nothing to sneeze at. One of the biggest features the house has is a very nice health club and a gym that can keep guests sweating and still looking their best. There’s also a big garage that contains over 170 cars — and room for plenty more!
2. The Hearst Mansion

This is a massive home that was first owned by William Randolph Hearst, the big media giant that was satirized in “Citizen Kane”. The house is worth 165 million dollars and even stretches across 6 acres of land. There are three swimming pool son the property, as well as over 29 bedrooms. Could you imagine living in a house with 29 bedrooms? There would definitely be a lot of places for all of your guests to stay! Nobody would even need to take a hotel room! The mansion used to actually be on the market, but the strange part is that no one actually showed any interest in getting the place.

3. Aaron Spelling’s Mansion

Aaron Spelling has definitely made his mark in the world of entertainment, and so has his house. It stretches across a whopping 56,000 square feet of land. It’s estimated in value at 150 million dollars. It was built in 1991, and includes 123 bedrooms, a tennis court, a skating rink, and too many swimming pools to list. Now this is luxury!
4. Hala Ranch

This beautiful ranch is owned by Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia. It’s in Aspen, Colorado, and is worth 135 million dollars. The entire ranch stretches across 14,397 square feet. The ranch boasts 27 bathrooms as well as 15 bedrooms. That’s not the weird part though: there’s a sewage treatment plant right on the ranch. Now that’s strange!
You also get the usual features — an indoor pool, private ski trails (hey, it’s Colorado — gotta catch that powder!), and a …a gas station. Fill ‘er up!
5. Maison de l’Amitie

How could we create a list of the world’s most expensive homes and not include anything owned by Donald Trump? He is one of the world’s richest men, and also one of the world’s most visible men based on his dealings in real estate as well as entertainment.
The house stretches across 80,000 square feet of land and also holds a conservatory as well as a ballroom. There are 15 bedrooms and even a guest cottage, just in case you’re not feeling like staying at the main mansion. Luxury is definitely in full effect when it comes to this mansion — at 125 million dollars, it should definitely be that way!

6. Fleur de Lys

With a name like Fleur de Lys, you’re definitely expecting to see a luxury home that has all of the elements of high French style and fashion. This house definitely doesn’t skip any details in this category. The home was built by Suzanne and David Saperstein, and has over 15 bedrooms. The exterior is covered with French limestone and the interior has plenty of gold to choose from — 24 karat gold. The house also has Napoleon’s favorite chair, which makes it a historical wonder. The house has been on the market since 2007.
7. Elena Franchuk’s Victorian Villa

The final house here is Elena Franchuk’s Victorian villa, which is worth 161 million dollars. It’s located in the Kensington district in London, which is definitely a posh neighborhood to be in.
It’s a long list, but it’s definitely one that is filled with beautiful houses, that’s for sure!
